#FeedCheltenham = Local Charities, Schools and Churches working in partnership with the Cheltenham Food support network to feed and provide fuel to households in Cheltenham.
"We are literally down to nothing. The fridge and freezer is empty and my daughter has one nappy and Universal Credit won’t help as I owe money on my budgeting loan. I thought things were bad last week but they are so much worse now. I can’t see how I can feed any of us at all."

Update September 2022

I am writing to you regarding some need for urgent help for food supplies for the food pantries in Cheltenham. Please keep reading for some ways you can help and why.

I have been on a food network provider meeting this morning and the food pantries are asking for help and support.
It is heart breaking listening to the stories people are telling about families having to choose between eating and heating their house with people not having enough money to feed themselves or their families.

Please get involved at this time with this worthwhile cause. Here are what the food pantries are saying:
  1. "People are scared to turn the power on to cook the food they are receiving."
  2. "Food Pantry numbers are increasing week by week."
  3. "The pantry has run out of soup and beans, We have never run out of soup and beans before."
  4. "We are providing food for people who also don't have the facilities or money to pay the fuel bills to cook."
  5. "We have seen an increase in numbers of households using the pantry alongside a decrease in donations."
  6. "We have seen a rise in single people and couples with no dependents needing support from the food pantries."
  7. "We are seeing people with nothing needing our help. The money for food is not adding up."
What can you do?

Please support your local food pantry and food bank with food donations.
Please donate money to #FeedCheltenham via Crowdfunder and we will buy the food and supply it to those in need through the food pantry network. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/feedcheltenham

Sarah Avery, project leader says. "#FeedCheltenham wanted to tell the people of Cheltenham that it is ok to ask for help if you are struggling. Another day it may be you that is in a position to give the help, but if you need help and support at the moment then don’t be afraid to ask for it. Those running the food support agencies know the anxieties that not having enough food can bring, they are not here to bring judgment but want to offer a sense of hope. We know from experience that if you can give someone food, you ease myriad anxieties. No children or adults in Cheltenham should be going hungry."
